For When Creativity and Business meet
About Me
"It's kind of fun to do the impossible"
~ Walt Disney
These words from Walt Disney are a true source of inspiration for me both professionally and personally. I excel at finding creative solutions to complex problems and organizing quantitative and quantitative data. I have a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from SNHU and plan to continue my education where I can keep up with the changing business world.
I have over 10 years of experience in business and accounts payable along with more than 5 years of running small businesses. In my current position as an accounts payable accountant, I have gained knowledge of medium business as well by working with multiple parent and subsidiary companies and daily operations in multiple countries and currencies. Working a hybrid schedule as I do now has allowed me to use my skills as a team player by working as part of an accounting team while still being self-directed. I have successfully honed my skills in variance reconciliation by meticulously analyzing financial records, identifying discrepancies, and resolving discrepancies promptly with vendors.
My prior positions have given me the ability to manage people and projects with ease, juggling deadlines and tasks, and delegating work to best use the strengths of my team members. I firmly believe that the best way to lead a team is to use the best skills of each member and fill in gaps with my extra support where it is needed. When everyone is pulling in the same direction the load will always seem lighter. Developing detailed reports to provide comprehensive insights into the financial trends of the company and often revealing where updates can be made for better efficiency. I have a skill for solving common, and uncommon, issues by using an out-of-the-box way of viewing the issue and creative thinking to find the best solution.
In my free time, I operate a small custom accessories business called Munchkin's Magic Stitch which creates themed and custom bags, purses, and accessories. I love to sew and I am currently learning how to hand embroider. I am also a promotion creator (called a striker) for a small custom-design fabric company. I have stage-managed and directed a variety of adult and children's theater productions both in community and semi-professional theater. My experience in both public and private business has helped me develop the skill I am most proud of the ability to problem-solve with logic and creativity.
